This young aussie actress really knows how to dress. Her slightly hippie and extremely casual style works perfectly for her elegant and stunning facial features. She knows exactly how to work what with what!

I Love the combination of Isabel’s shy personality and pretty fashion sense. She seems to create a sense of peace though her look and she is an inspiration for us to incorporate our true personality and feelings into what we are wearing.

An essential of Isabel’s is her interesting hats and head pieces. Whether its formal wear, smart casual or just casual, Isabel finds a way to incorporate alternative head wear! This look really suites her petite features and adds to what she creates with her outfits. Hat and head pieces are her signature thing, which is a great aspect to have with your wardrobe!

Get the look: 1. always chose simple pieces of clothing for your outfit like a pretty dress with very little embellishment. this main aspect to your look will layout the basis of it, so it’s really attractive to use something simple, as seen on Isabel allot 2. Flats are a must and look great to make any outfit feminine 3. The head piece! Once again, always chose something simple. A surfer styled hat or hippie like head band across the forehead will look great with your new look!

Day 3: Wednesday 17th NOVEMBER 

Natasha Poly

 Not only is she my favourite model, but one of my favourite fashion icons as well! Known for her legs, runway walk and cheekbones, this successful model is an extreme beauty on the streets of New York, Milan and Paris.

 I Love NP’s laid back style with very little colour used. This one tone theme really brings out her beauty and expresses the ‘smartness’ and ‘class’ of her outfits. All NP needs to create a masterpiece is well tailored pieces like coats and pants as well as simple yet stunning shoes.

 An essential item I have noticed for NP is her black designer bags of all sizes. This essential of her matches every outfit she wears and really looks great for something so simple. You can never beat a black accessory!

 Get Natasha Poly’s laidback look: It’s all about mixing and matching with the right pieces 1. Always have your hair messily straight in a middle part or pulled back into a messy yet tame, loose up-do 2. Create the laid back look by wearing loose items that drape over your body 3. Wear neutral colours that look classic and don’t date 4. Lastly, wear minimal makeup but if you feel the need only wear neutral and complimenting colours to smoothly continue the ‘coolness’ of your look!

Day 2: TUESDAY 16th NOVEMBER

Sarah Jessica Parker

She may very well be known as Carrie Bradshaw (SATC) but this glamorous being, with no doubt, “carries” out her appealing style from her character in sex and the city to her real life self as a Hollywood star.

I Love SJP’s ‘full on’ attitude to her wardrobe both as the character Carrie and as Sarah Jessica. But the red carpet is where SJP’s true Beauty shines through where she isn’t afraid to dress to impress and attract attention with her eye catching outfit choices.

An essential for SJP is her pure poise. From the moment she steps out of the limo to the moment she steps back in, SJP carries herself with true class in the way she talks, walks and grooms. Grunge is a big ‘no no’ for this girl which is a nice change even for those like myself who love grungy style.

Get the look of SJP’s well groomed appearance by the following steps: 1. Always have clean hair that is styled to perfection, preferably pulled off your face into a neat bun or pony tail. 2. Wear colours that compliment your skin tone and hair colour. For SJP, she can afford to wear bright eye catching colours, both clothes and makeup, because of her relatively tan skin and sandy blonde hair. 3. Always smile and be polite!

From 15/11/10 (today) to 18/11/10 (Thursday) it’s ‘influence week’. Each day i will create a post expressing a certain idol of mines, style and how you can incorporate bits of their look into yours.

Day 1: MONDAY 15th NOVEMBER

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen

These petite twins could successfully pull off wearing a paper bag over her head and a potato sack around her body. As i like to call them the “Queens of chic grunge”, Mary-Kate and Ashley  are extreme street style addicts who likes to mix cheap with designer.

I love MK&A’s alternate edge to their wardrobe and sea water styled hair. MK strikes a great occasional fur coat, sky scraping heels, oversized bag’s and mattered XL T-shirts while Ashley pulls of a gorgeous pair of large sun glasses and tailored blazers.                                                                                                        

An essential item that Mary-Kate works well is her grungy boyfriend jeans. Get this Look by: 1. heading down to a second hand clothing store near you (vinnie’s and Kirribilli markets area personal favourite of mine) and grab yourself a pair of old dated baggy jeans perfect to mess up (literally)! 2. Using scissors and a cheap razer, cut, rib and shave the denim around the knees until they look damaged in a natural form. 3. Lastly simply role up the bottom until they are above the ankle.

This coming summer… lose those layers, jumpers, boots and  trackie’s! It’s all about simple outfits with a touch of flare (and as much skin to bare as possible!).

Forget bras and panties, the only thing CLOSE to lingerie you should be wearing is a tight striking bikini. A plain white scoop singlet from bonds (large enough to reveal your luscious new tog’s), One teaspoon ripped denim shorts (the more ragged the better), and a pair of light or bright havaiana thongs and you are set for a day in the sun.                                                                       Oh! And don’t forget that agent 99 animal festival hat (from general pants) snug fit on your head, enough to finish off your incredibly practical yet stunning summer wear.

Sarah’s Tip: I recently purchased a delectable bikini from Tigerlily. It is black and white, fitted perfectly to my body making me look just right for a fashionable 60’s film.                                                                                                           This summer is all about the fun styled bikinis. Head to sea folly for an underwire swimmer, or if a high waist tickles your fancy then whip to Zimmerman.                                                                                                                        Often, a nice touch to your new summery look is a change in hair colour or a new body piercing, something new and exciting to mix up your look.

Expressing your own personal style can be difficult due to there being so much pressure to dress in a certain way and always knowing people are judging you wherever you go.

Am I a trend setter or a trend follower? Well… I like to think I am a trend setter but as much as we like to think we started ‘that’ trend, every style is picked up from an inspiration from someplace  in some way or another.

A new technique for confidence in what you wear… LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! The world of fashion is a movie set. Your whole life you will be judged, told how to be, told what to do and told what to change, but this somewhat inspirational journey is a tough yet educational learning road that MUST be approached with confidence, originality and no regrets.

Sarah’s Tip: Never look in your mirror thinking that what you’re wearing is too outrageous or different. People will see you with nothing but admiration if you are game enough to walk into a room with confidence both in your personality, your approach AND your outfit.

Whether you feel this quote matches the context of my post or not, i feel it gives an outlook of the point of view I am trying to convey about caring what you put on your back.

Fashion and expensive clothing may be a guilty pleasure otherwise known as villany in this case but the effort you notice a person puts into the way they dress and want people to see them and approach them is as rewarding and interesting  as watching a chick hatch from an egg or the sun rise and eventually return to bed at the end of the day.

One of my quick personal thoughts on the magic of fashion; I am intrigued by the way one girl can walk into a store and try on a dress and it look not quite right and the next girl to walk into that same store and try on that same dress and it look amazing.                                                                                                                                         

That’s when you realise the effort you put in to finding that one dress, is worth every cent you pay and second you take to admire it on your back at the end of the day when the sun has gone to bed and the chicks have hatched from their beautyeggs.                                                                                                                                                                                 

The Beauty of Fashion? The fantasy, the journey you take, the way ‘that’ dress can accentuate the true curve of ‘your’ hip, the feeling of walking down the street and no longer having to wish you were turning heads.

Over time models have become the real influence for style, the images below express the not so ordinary looks that have somehow taken over the world and captured many eyes of all types of women.

Never throw out any old classic pieces as fashion trends always return. If you don’t love an item of your clothing, give it to someone who does, someone who has admired it or complemented it.

Remember, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

When walking the streets, among the palm trees, under the clouds and beside the rail ways, take a moment to view the sites and incorporate your outfit into the atmosphere.

City lights, a few floral’s, red socks and a pair of your favourite boots!  Incorporate all sides of life into your wardrobe.
